    Starting on Thursday 14th of October 2pm to 4pm for 4 weeks

    Learn how to paint with oils.  This course is suitable for beginners or for those with some experience. Paints and painting surfaces will be provided. You will be tutored by well-respected artist Allison Mcsparron-Edwards

    Allison is a local artist from Paignton, she has developed a passion for oil painting late in life and uses colour and representational art in all that she does. 

    You will need to bring with you:

    • Either a portable table-top easel or a hard board/surface that you can work on 
    • Three soft brushes if possible e.g. a round pointed one (size 3), a flat chisel ended one (half inch) and a comber (half inch). Cheap and cheerful is ok.
    • A 9 point value scale which are for sale on Amazon: e.g. Colour Wheel Company £5
    • A colour wheel which are for sale on Amazon prices vary according to size but typically about £5
    • Tear off palettes to put your paint on and create your colours
    • Bring two very small jam jars with lids for a splash of thinner and linseed oil (the small jam jars that you get when you have a cream tea are ideal!)
    • You can bring your own linseed oil and thinners if you want but see below

     Alison will supply:

    • Masking tape
    • A painting surface : either paper or art board (Each sheet costs £1)
    • Paint
    • Odourless thinner
    • Linseed oil
